PARK HISTORY

History of Ashmore Palms Holiday Village

Ashmore Palms Holiday Village

The current owners of Ashmore Palms purchased the property in April 1986 when the park was known as Ashmore Caravan Park, was 2 years old and consisted of 200 caravan sites, basic facilities and little landscaping.

Gradually the family started to introduce a range of holiday cabins to cater to different tastes and budgets. New facilities were built and other renovated, gardens were established, hundreds of palm trees were planted and exotic bird displays introduced. The Village’s unique Macaw and parrot collection became one of the large private collections in Australia.

Ten years later, in July 1996, Ashmore Caravan Park changes its name to reflect its holiday accommodation and unique flora and fauna features.

In 1998, Ashmore Palms entered the Queensland Tourism Awards for the very first time, which represented the start of many award wins. The Village’s Queensland Tourism Awards, Australian Tourism Awards and other awards can be found in the display cases in the Holiday Reception, including a Hall of Fame Award for Winning the Queensland and Australian Tourism Awards for 3 consecutive years.

In 2016, Ashmore Palms celebrated 30 years of being a Gold Coast family owned and operated business.

Today, Ashmore Palms is a well-established park and popular for its range of holiday, short term, long term and corporate accommodation and quality facilities.

Whilst many holiday parks in Australia are being sold to public listed companies, Automobile Clubs and superannuation funds, Ashmore Palms is proud to still be 100% owned and operated by a local family.

Sister properties of Ashmore Palms include award-winning Brisbane Holiday Village, located at Eight Mile Plains (just south of Brisbane City) and Earls Court Motel and Apartments, conveniently located in the Southport CBD.
